The Civil Rights Heritage Center is a student-run organization at Indiana University – South Bend. Here, we promote the justice of all human rights issues, using the Civil Rights Movement as our foundation. We are in partnership with the community of South Bend and neighboring cities, schools, and neighborhood centers to promote social justice for all people.
As an active Center member, I have been involved with the Diversity Reading Program. This program is devoted to reading to children grades K-4 about diversity, teaching them tolerance. Along with reading to the children, we create a craft to interact with them and to show that reading and learning about tolerance can be fun!
